  1. Smriti Irani launches GNFC’s Neem project in UP Union Cabinet Minister Smriti Irani inaugurated Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (GNFC’s) Neem Project in Amethi district of Uttar Pradesh. Under this project, GNFC intends to collect 8,000 to 10,000 MT Neem seeds from Uttar Pradesh,  which in turn will provide additional income of Rs 12-15 crore for over one lakh rural woman from 2,500 villages in the State.   1. Indian economy has recovered from impact of demonetisation, GST: World Bank Report As per World Bank’s bi-annual South Asia Economic Focus report released on April 15, 2018, Indian economy has recovered from the adverse impacts of demonetisation (in November 2016) and roll out of Goods and Services Tax (in July 2017). World Bank’s outlook on Indian Economy: Owing to recovery from above stated events, Indian economy is projected to grow by 7.3% in 2018 and 7.5% in 2019. Indian recovery will again make South Asia region, the world’s fastest growing region. South Asian region as a whole is projected to grow at 6.9% in 2018 and 7.1% in 2019.   1. Suresh Prabhu inaugurates Delhi-Pathankot flight under UDAN scheme Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu on Thursday inaugurated first flight from Delhi to Pathankot (Punjab), at a ceremony held at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. The Pathankot airport has been opened by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to improve regional connectivity as per the UDAN Scheme.   1. China unveils World’s longest Sea Bridge connecting HongKong with mainland China China is ready to inaugurate the longest sea bridge in the world this year. The bridge, which connects Hong Kong and Macau with mainland China , is 55 km long and six lanes wide.   1. CM Pinarayi Vijayan launches M-Kerala app at Kerala’s first global digital summit Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan  launched M-Kerala, a unified app for all government services at #FUTURE 2018, a first-of-its-kind digital tech summit in the state.   1. Coast Guard gets new interceptor to strengthen coastal security The Indian Coast Guard ship C-437 was commissioned at Porbandaron. The induction is part of efforts by the Coast Guard to strengthen coastal security. It will strengthen the security umbrella of the west coast and will help augment patrolling, to prevent illicit activities such as infiltration, smuggling and illegal fishing.
